Origin
Vins de France is a quite new denomination (2009) for wines produced and sourced from different wine regions in France. It is a great opportunity for our winemaker to express the House skills with wines showing a steady style and unique personality and perfectly reflecting Antonin Rodet’s commitment towards the enhancement of French terroir, more specifically Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Vinification and maturing
Vintage : 2024
Yields of Chardonnay were below expectations, showing a decline compared to the previous year. This decrease was attributed to the persistent drought of prior years, which weakened the vines, and to diseases exacerbated by the humid conditions.
Harvesting began in late August and extended into September, with heterogeneous results across regions due to climatic and sanitary disparities.
Despite these challenges, the harvested Chardonnay grapes showed satisfactory quality in the least affected parcels. The wines produced exhibit typical aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as apple and pear, with hints of citrus. On the palate, they offer pleasant freshness, balanced acidity, and a harmonious structure, although some may lack complexity due to disrupted ripening conditions.
